The Orangewood Academy Spartans can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They breezed by Capistrano Valley Christian at home to the tune of 69-27. The victory was just what Orangewood Academy needed coming off of a 64-42 defeat in their prior matchup.
Orangewood Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Vivian Grenald led the charge by scoring 19 points. Another player making a difference was Alissa Belen, who scored 12 points.
Orangewood Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Capistrano Valley Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orangewood Academy will take on Fairmont Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fairmont Prep is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Capistrano Valley Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pacifica Christian/Orange County at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Pacifica Christian/Orange County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Capistrano Valley Christian in California (Pacifica Christian/Orange County is ranked 85th, while Capistrano Valley Christian is ranked 302nd).
