Monache is a perfect 4-0 against Sierra Pacific since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Monache Marauders will challenge the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. Monache will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
Monache is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 51-44 win over Centennial.
Monache's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kyah Bartlett, who posted 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals. That's the most boards Bartlett has posted since back in December of 2024. Shelley Andrade was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.
Monache smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Sierra Pacific came tearing into Thursday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 68-59.
Sierra Pacific's win came from a few key players Monache will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nyang Ayuen, who had 11 points along with eight boards and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Asia Jackson, who scored 18 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.
Monache's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points over those games. As for Sierra Pacific, their record is now 22-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Monache has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Sierra Pacific struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Monache beat Sierra Pacific 48-39 in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Will Monache repeat their success, or does Sierra Pacific have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
