The Pisgah Bears put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Smoky Mountain 75-27 at home. That 75-27 margin sets a new team best for Pisgah this season.
Pisgah's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cadden Davis led the charge by scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Mason Putnam was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Smoky Mountain saw an underclassman step up: Custer Prenger scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Prenger hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Snider, who scored seven points.
Pisgah's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Smoky Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Pisgah will be home for the holidays to greet Enka at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Enka will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 335th, while Pisgah is ranked 98th). As for Smoky Mountain, they will head out on the road to face off against Asheville at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Asheville is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
