There's no place like home for the Cambria Heights Highlanders, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 42-33 victory over Richland on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cambria Heights also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2020.
Among those leading the charge was Sienna Kirsch, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Cambria Heights' points. Another player making a difference was Kinley Rogal, who scored 6 points along with 6 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Richland still got an impressive performance from Lanie Marshall, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sasha Garnett, who scored 2 points along with 3 blocks.
The win got Cambria Heights back to even at 1-1. As for Richland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cambria Heights will face off against West Shamokin at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Richland, they will head out on the road to face off against Forest Hills at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Forest Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Saturday.
