The Ontario Jaguars meant business on Wednesday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Aztecs squad that has allowed just 23.6 points per contest. Ontario simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Azusa 56-18 on the road. The result was nothing new for Ontario, who have now won three matches by 38 points or more so far this season.
Ontario got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hailey McDow out in front who scored 15 points along with 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Jade Martinez, who scored 10 points along with 5 blocks.
Several Aztecs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ruby Untoria, who scored 6 points. Untoria hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Azusa struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Ontario racked up 12.
The win (which was Ontario's third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. As for Azusa, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ontario will face off against Ganesha at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Azusa, they will head out on the road to face off against Blair at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
