Bishop Union has gone a perfect 10-0 against Boron recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Broncos will take on the Bobcats at 3:15 p.m. Bishop Union is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
Bishop Union is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest win since February 28th on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out California City 13-12. That's two games straight that the Broncos have won by just one run.

Brayden Leeson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Reuben Nicholson was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in May of 2025. Mike Trejo also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Bishop Union kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Boron got the win against Frazier Mountain on Tuesday by a conclusive 17-7. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.
Like Bishop Union, Boron also got a great game from a two-way player: Malachi Rucker. He struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Rucker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and one double. Boron is undefeated when Rucker posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, Boron got a massive performance out of Andrew Gartica, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Gartica is becoming a predictor of the Bobcats' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Santos Escobar, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Bishop Union's record now sits at 10-4. As for Boron, their record is now 9-6.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bishop Union hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. However, it's not like Boron struggles in that department as they've averaged .398. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Bishop Union's way against Boron in their previous matchup back in March, as Bishop Union made off with a 16-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
