The Reed-Custer Comets will be playing at home against the Herscher Tigers at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Reed-Custer waltzed into Tuesday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They really took it to Prairie Central for the full four quarters, racking up a 44-15 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Reed-Custer, who have now won three contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Reed-Custer found their leader in underclassman Alyssa Wollenzien, who scored 18 points along with 6 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Keenan, who scored 4 points along with 9 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Herscher didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Wilmington on Monday, but they still walked away with a 41-37 victory. The win was just what Herscher needed coming off of a 60-22 loss in their prior matchup.
Reed-Custer pushed their record up to 6-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Herscher, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Reed-Custer ended up a good deal behind Herscher in their previous meeting back in January, losing 42-28. Can Reed-Custer avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
