Samantha Rebbert continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine steals. Rebbert is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Williams, who posted 15 points.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Santa Cruz on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-27 victory over Soquel. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.
Scotts Valley better keep an eye on Kina Espinosa. She was instrumental in Santa Cruz's win, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 15 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mila Conn, who had four points and four steals.
Scotts Valley pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.6 points. As for Santa Cruz, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.
