Hueneme hasn't had much luck against Santa Paula recently, but that could start to change  on Wednesday. The Hueneme Vikings are taking a road trip to  take on the Santa Paula Cardinals  at 3:00  p.m. Hueneme will be strutting in after a  win while Santa Paula will be coming in after a  defeat.

The  win was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Rodriguez was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  RBI (two).
 In other batting news,  Joseph Pena was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing  Two bases. while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.  Walter Nickerson was another key player,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 Hueneme  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .628. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage Christian only posted  an  OBP of  .296.
Meanwhile, Santa Paula fell victim to Castaic and their airtight pitching crew  on Monday. They took  a  4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coyotes.
 Santa Paula saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Aaron Gonzalez, who  went 1-for-3 with one  double. That  double was  Gonzalez's first of the season.
 Hueneme's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Santa Paula, their loss was  their fourth straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 1-7.
 Hueneme came up short against Santa Paula in their previous meeting  back in March of 2024, falling  4-0. Can Hueneme avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
