The Corona Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 52-40 to Roosevelt. While losing is never fun, Corona can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Roosevelt is ranked 153rd).
Corona lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Fia Liaga, who scored 11 points along with six assists. Another player making a difference was Chinazaekpere Irechukwu, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Corona's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Roosevelt, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-8.
Corona does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Roosevelt also has no future games currently scheduled.
