Westmoor hasn't had much luck against Priory recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Westmoor Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Priory Panthers at 4:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
Westmoor took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 15-5 margin over San Francisco Waldorf. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by ten runs or more this season.
Nathan Ho made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ho was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, Matthew Cote was incredible, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Jeremy Zhang was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Priory never got on the board in their matchup last Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Pinewood last Friday. They blew past Pinewood 22-3. The victory continues a trend for Priory in their matchups with Pinewood: they've now won three in a row.
Like Westmoor, Priory also got a great game from a two-way player: Owen Lee. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Lee hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with seven RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those five hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Matthew Sun was a standout: he got on base in all six of his plate appearances with five runs, six RBI, and two stolen bases. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Kai Park, who scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.
Westmoor pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Priory, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Westmoor hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .419. However, it's not like Priory struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Westmoor came up short against Priory in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 10-7. Will Westmoor have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
