Verndale added to the longest winning streak in Pheasant - North (9 Man) this week by beating Hillcrest Lutheran Academy, 56-8. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Verndale led the league in scoring this week by notching 56 points on the Comets.
Ashby's dynamic duo of Blake Ohren and Reed Hanson proved tough for Underwood to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Ohren threw for 279 yards and 4 touchdowns and Hanson had 110 yards receiving. Toby Wach helped Ashby's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 64 yards.
The Arrows' dynamic duo of Ohren and Hanson proved to be unstoppable against the Rockets, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Evan Newman was the best running back in the league this week. In 4 carries, he ran for 60 yards as Hillcrest Lutheran Academy lost to Underwood. Reggie Undseth also contributed to the rushing game with 31 yards on the ground.
Hanson was the best wideout in Pheasant - North (9 Man) this week as Jeffrey Risbrudt's team fell to Chuck Ross' team.
Ohren put up the best numbers through the air as the Arrows fell to the Rockets.
He was 19-41 with 1 interception.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Charlie Brue's team's Jacob Isaac and Newman have proven to be a lethal combination. Isaac has thrown for 934 yards this season, while Newman has 24 catches for 269 yards. Hunter Fick from Ashby leads the league in rushing with 206 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Michael Mahlen's team and the Arrows. The Pirates enters the game ranked fifth in the state, while Ashby ranks 24th.
The longest pass in the league this week was acheived by the Arrows' Ohren. Ashby lost to Underwood when he connected with Hanson on a 65-yard throw and catch.
