The Georgetown G-Men were the 45-22 winner over the Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Georgetown took a 43-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Miami Valley Christian Academy on Monday. Georgetown has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Georgetown's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Bertram, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Preston, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Even though they lost, Georgetown were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Georgetown's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Miami Valley Christian Academy, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.
Georgetown will finish 2023 at home by hosting Eastern at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. As for Miami Valley Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Lockland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
