Pierce extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 4-4. They lost 15-2 to Logan View/Scribner-Snyder. The Bluejays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Logan View/Scribner-Snyder apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Jessa Kraft was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Evelyn Skrdla was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double.
As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3. The match marked their most dominant victory of the season so far.
On Logan View/Scribner-Snyder's side, Marah Fischer made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fischer has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Arienne Summers, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Rachel Purvis, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pierce will host Ord at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, they will welcome Douglas County West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Falcon have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
