Truckee has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the South Tahoe Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Truckee and the Vikings are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
Last Friday, Truckee was beaten by the Panthers 64-6. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Truckee has scored all season.
In what's become a running theme this season, South Tahoe gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Wooster 60-27 on the road. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point South Tahoe had established a 28 point advantage.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Tahoe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samantha Robinson, who scored 13 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robinson has scored all season. Campbell Mathews was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Truckee has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for South Tahoe, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.
Truckee might still be hurting after the 60-40 loss they got from the Vikings in their previous matchup last Wednesday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mathews, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
