After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grady, Elida was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 52-0 win over the Dora Coyotes. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 40 points or more this season.
Cason Norman was his usual excellent self, rushing for 80 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. He is becoming a predictor of Elida's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Brandenburg-Salazar, who rushed for 70 yards and one score on only five carries.
Elida didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hayden Rubio and Brandenburg-Salazar. Another thorn in Dora's side was Tj Kennedy, who picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Elida's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-3. As for Dora, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
