Basketball Recap: Crystal Springs Uplands Extends Winning Streak to Two

If University Prep Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Crystal Springs Uplands, they should've done a better job of containing Mia Samaan-Molinero. The Crystal Springs Uplands Gryphons put the hurt on the University Prep Academy Golden Eagles with a sharp 41-15 victory on Saturday thanks in part to Samaan-Molinero, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds. Samaan-Molinero is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

The win made it two in a row for Crystal Springs Uplands and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for University Prep Academy, they dropped their record down to 4-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crystal Springs Uplands will take on King's Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crystal Springs Uplands' defense has only allowed 25 points per game this season, so King's Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for University Prep Academy, they will face off against The Nueva School at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Nueva School will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something University Prep Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
