After losing to the Nipomo Titans the last time they met, the Independence Falcons decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Independence came out on top against Nipomo by a score of 41-32 on Friday.
Independence got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ayonis Killebrew out in front who scored 6 points along with 4 steals and 3 blocks. Another player making a difference was Kaylynn Bolden, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds.
Independence's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Nipomo, they have fallen quite a ways from their 18-9 record last season and are now at 1-3.
Independence will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against San Luis Obispo at 1:30 p.m. on December 2nd. San Luis Obispo presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Independence in California (San Luis Obispo is ranked 211th, while Independence is ranked 751st). As for Nipomo, they will square off against Clovis East at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
