The Mooresville Blue Devils and the Central Cabarrus Vikings will round out the year against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Mooresville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Central Cabarrus likes a good challenge.
Mooresville saw some tournament action on Monday. Everything went their way against A.C. Reynolds as they made off with a 73-53 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Blue Devils' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Rockets are ranked 358th).

Christian Wilson
| 12/22/25 vs A.C. Reynolds | 62% |
| 12/19/25 vs Northwest Cabarrus | 100% |
| 12/12/25 vs Rocky River | 75% |
| 12/09/25 vs Cox Mill | 60% |
Christian Wilson had another great game (as he tends to do), shooting 62% from the field on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 60% in the last four games he's played. Nolan Ericson was another key player, going 6-for-15 en route to 15 points.
Mooresville was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Central Cabarrus ultimately got the result they hoped for last Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Olympic, sneaking past 64-61. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Mooresville better focus on containing Parker Watkins and Duron Vaughn as the pair were huge in Central Cabarrus' win. Watkins shot 41% from the field to rack up 25 points and eight boards, while Vaughn dropped a double-double with 17 points and 18 rebounds. With that strong performance, Vaughn is now averaging an impressive 8.8 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendrick Watkins, who posted four points.
Central Cabarrus' victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Mooresville, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Mooresville has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Central Cabarrus struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Mooresville strolled past Central Cabarrus in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 86-72. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
