The CORE Butte Lynx will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Williams Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. CORE Butte will be strutting in after a win while the Yellowjackets will be coming in after a defeat.
CORE Butte had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Maxwell with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 46-30.
Meanwhile, Williams' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight defeat. They were dealt a 82-21 loss at the hands of Hamilton. While losing is never fun, Williams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1324th, while the Braves are ranked 522nd).
CORE Butte's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Williams, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for CORE Butte against the Yellowjackets when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 50-16 victory. With CORE Butte ahead 34-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
