North Shore is 1-8 against Beaumont United since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The North Shore Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Beaumont United Timberwolves at 1:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, North Shore earned a 39-29 win over Kingwood. The win was just what North Shore needed coming off of a 67-37 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Beaumont United stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Humble 96-50 at home. The win was nothing new for Beaumont United as they're now sitting on three straight.
Beaumont United relied on the efforts of Weston Davis, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds, and Clarence Payia, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Payia continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Daniel Williams, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
North Shore's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-17. As for Beaumont United, they pushed their record up to 27-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
North Shore came up short against Beaumont United when the teams last played back in January, falling 60-49. Can North Shore avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
