The Millard West Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Millard South Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Millard West sitting on eight straight wins and Millard South on three.
Millard West is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Lincoln East, who was ranked 25th at the time (Millard West was ranked fifth). The Wildcats' pitcher stepped up to hand the Spartans a 15-0 shutout on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Addison Burdorf was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Burdorf was even better at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Lily Van Boskirk was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Alex Finley was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs.
Millard West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Millard South got the win against Omaha South on Monday by a conclusive 14-0. Considering the Patriots have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Caylen Goff was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sorynn Molgaard, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Millard West's record now sits at 20-7. As for Millard South, they now have a winning record of 14-13.
Everything went Millard West's way against Millard South when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Millard West made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
