Abilene had won three straight on the road, but  on Friday they bumped up to 7-2 to make it four. They enjoyed a cozy  24-6 win over the Tascosa Rebels. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rebels, too.

 Abilene didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Jordan Brown and  Charles Meeks. Brown also set a new season-high mark in  total tackles with six.  Demaurcs Reid was another major factor on D,  making 17 total tackles.
As for Tascosa,  with the  loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3. The  game marked their lowest-scoring  matchup so far this season.
  Deandre Sanders and  Reese Cabe certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss.  Sanders gained 121 total yards, while  Cabe rushed for 55 yards and one  touchdown.
 Looking ahead, Abilene will be playing in front of their home fans against Monterey  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Plainsmen's rather soft defense (which has allowed 31  points per  contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Tascosa, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  matchup,  a  52-10  victory against Caprock on the 30th.
