Meanwhile, Sacramento Adventist came tearing into Monday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 49-42 win over Elk Grove. The score was all tied up 20-20 at the break, but Sacramento Adventist was the better team in the second half.
Cristo Rey's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Sacramento Adventist, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4.
Cristo Rey took a serious blow against Sacramento Adventist when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 60-26. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cristo Rey was down 36-12.
