Baseball Recap: Kiski Area Takes a Loss

After flying high against Penn Hills on Wednesday, Kiski Area came back down to earth. The Cavaliers took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fox Chapel Foxes on Thursday. The Cavaliers have struggled against the Foxes recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Kiski Area saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Deluca, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases. Deluca is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Kiski Area's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Fox Chapel, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Kiski Area will face off against Butler at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cavaliers are facing the Golden Tornado at the right time seeing as the Golden Tornado are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Fox Chapel, they will square off against Shady Side Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Foxes surely won't give up without a fight.
