There's no place like home for the Maplewood Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They snuck past Cochranton with a 36-30 win on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Maplewood also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Cochranton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Shelby Mcbryar, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds, and Marley Rodax who scored nine points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mcbryar pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Maplewood's victory was their 17th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.53 points. As for Cochranton, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maplewood will challenge Hickory at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hickory will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 465th, while Maplewood is ranked 230th). As for Cochranton, they will head out on the road to challenge Youngsville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Youngsville is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
