The Walnut Mustangs lost against the California Condors back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Walnut fell to California 46-42.
Walnut's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maileeh Suasti, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Rosas, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds.
Walnut's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for California, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walnut will challenge Los Altos at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for California, they will head out on the road to square off against La Serna at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. La Serna has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
