After a string of 14 wins, Masterman's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 40-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Germantown Friends.
Despite the loss, Masterman still got an impressive performance from Jocelyn Goldstein, who scored 17 points. That was a full 56.7% of Masterman's points, marking the 14th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Sophia Brunelli, who scored nine points.
Masterman's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-1. As for Germantown Friends, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Masterman will head out on the road to challenge John Bartram at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. John Bartram will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 623rd, while Masterman is ranked 95th). As for Germantown Friends, they will be playing at home against George School at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
