The Mount Union Trojans suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Monday. They fell just short of McConnellsburg by a score of 37-34. If Mount Union hoped to take revenge for the 33-30 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the loss, Mount Union still got an impressive performance from Maddie Dimoff, who scored 13 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Patyn Crisswell, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Mount Union has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for McConnellsburg, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-10.
Mount Union will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Moshannon Valley at 6:00 p.m. McConnellsburg will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Southern Fulton at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th.
