After soaring to 55 points the game before, the Chavez Eagles were a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They were beaten by Poly 70-24. Chavez was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-15.
Poly got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hannah Lising out in front who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. The matchup was Lising's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Audrey Flores was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Chavez has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Poly, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chavez will take on Verdugo Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Poly, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Hollywood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Hollywood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 908th, while Poly is ranked 260th).
