The Central Valley Falcons lost against the Yreka Miners back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Central Valley took a 46-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Yreka.
When it comes to explaining why Central Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kylie Mason. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points. That was a full 48.8% of Central Valley's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Harley Wilson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Yreka's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexes Collier, who scored 18 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Collier has scored at least a third of Yreka's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Avery, who scored 11 points.
Central Valley has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 16 of their last 17 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-21 record this season. As for Yreka, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-14.
Central Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Yreka also has no future games currently scheduled.
