The Chavez Titans entered their tilt with the Wasco Tigers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Chavez blew past Wasco, posting a 56-28 victory on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Chavez also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Chavez's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chloe Lopez, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Lopez pulled down eight or more rebounds. Hannah Diaz was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cassandra Evangelista, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karly Perez, who scored six points.
Chavez pushed their record up to 11-9 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Wasco, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.
Chavez will take on Taft at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Taft focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for Wasco, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Delano at 6:30 p.m. Wasco is facing Delano at the right time seeing as Delano is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
