The Stone Ridge Christian Knights meant business on Wednesday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Explorers squad that has allowed just 26.92 points per contest. Stone Ridge Christian strolled past Westlake Charter with points to spare, taking the game 55-39. 55 seems to be a good number for Stone Ridge Christian as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Leading Stone Ridge Christian to victory were Cali Cole and Bella Ewing. Cole scored 18 points, while Ewing scored 19 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ewing has scored at least a third of Stone Ridge Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Amy Villa, who scored six points.
Despite the loss, Westlake Charter had strong showings from Lena Tahod, who scored 16 points, and Anthonia Nwaukoni, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Tahod is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played.
The win makes it two in a row for Stone Ridge Christian and bumps their season record up to 9-5. As for Westlake Charter, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stone Ridge Christian will take on Elliot Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Elliot Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. Westlake Charter won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Fortune Early College at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th. Hopefully Fortune Early College focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
