The Sage Creek Bobcats had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They blew past West Hills 50-29. Sage Creek might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three matches by 21 points or more this season.
Sage Creek found their leader in underclassman Josie Biehl, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Biehl is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Grace Balcar was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Sage Creek's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. As for West Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sage Creek won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pacific Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Pacific Ridge's defense has only allowed 26.2 points per game this season, so Sage Creek's offense will have their work cut out for Sage Creek. As for West Hills, they will head out on the road to face off against San Dieguito Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
