Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school basketball. The tradition continues to close out the 2024-25 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Braylon Mullins of
Greenfield-Central (Greenfield) is the 2024-25 Indiana MaxPreps Player of the Year. The 6-foot-5 senior guard led the Cougars to a 23-4 record and the sectional championship game.
For the season, Mullins averaged 32.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.7 steals per contest. He shot 65.0 percent from the field, 47.6 percent from 3-point range and 87.9 percent from the free throw line.

Over the course of 98 career games, Mullins piled up 2,158 points to help the Cougars to an 83-15 record.
Mullins set a career-high with 52 points in a 102-62 victory over Martinsville on Feb. 22 – one of five 40-point performances during his senior campaign.
Regarded as the No. 15 prospect in the Class of 2025 according to
247Sports, Mullins signed with Connecticut over offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Duke, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State, North Carolina and Tennessee among others.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which is scheduled to be released April 8. Past selections include 2023-24 All-NBA picks Devin Booker (2014), Jalen Brunson (2014, 2015), Anthony Davis (2011), Kevin Durant (2006), Anthony Edwards (2019) and Jayson Tatum (2014, 2015, 2016).
