La Salle and Serra are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. La Salle will host Serra at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (La Salle 4.1, Serra 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Friday, La Salle sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over Paraclete. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Spirits recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Frane Flores made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because La Salle is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. Flores was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other pitching news, La Salle got a great performance from Nico Armendariz as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits.
Back at the plate, La Salle let Drew Ward and Andrew Klein run wild. Ward scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Klein scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Chris Cardenas was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
La Salle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Serra entered their tilt with Lennox Academy on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Cavaliers have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to GABRIEL CASILLAS's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, CJ HUGHES was excellent, getting a hit. The team also got some help courtesy of MARC EMMERMAN, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Serra's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for La Salle, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
La Salle came out on top in a nail-biter against Serra when the teams last played on March 7th, sneaking past 3-1. Will La Salle repeat their success, or does Serra has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
