The Valley Vikings won against the Florin Panthers last Wednesday with 49 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Valley took down Florin 49-33. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Valley.
Valley found their leader in underclassman Adali Vasquez, who almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vasquez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Almetrea Johnson, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Valley's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-13. As for Florin, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Fortune Early College at 12:00 p.m. on January 13th. Fortune Early College is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Florin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Natomas at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Natomas and Florin are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
