Not much got past Nick Chow, who gave up just four hits to keep Central Catholic off the board. Chow has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Henry Dommer was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Acalanes entered their tilt with Chico on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Panthers 9-3. That's two games straight that the Dons have won by exactly six runs.
Branson Smith tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ando Butner, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Drew Asadorian was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Acalanes pushed their record up to 18-10-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Saint Francis, their victory bumped their record up to 21-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Saint Francis has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Acalanes struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
