Even though the Williamson Warriors have not done well against the Wellsboro Hornets recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Williamson sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 28-25 win over the Hornets. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Williamson has scored all season.
Leading Williamson to victory were Kenna Thomas and Olivia Meisner. Thomas scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and four steals, while Meisner scored eight points along with ten rebounds and two steals. Meisner has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 15 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madisen Jones, who scored six points along with two steals.
Williamson's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. As for Wellsboro, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Williamson will be playing at home against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Galeton comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Wellsboro, they will head out on the road to square off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
