The Bethlehem Christian Panthers had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Coventry Christian with a sharp 50-28 victory on Friday. That 22 point margin sets a new team best for Bethlehem Christian this season.
Coventry Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Caitlin Cianci, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Cianci hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby McCafferty, who scored three points along with 12 rebounds and seven blocks.
Coventry Christian's lineup was just a bit different on Friday as Cianci got a bit more time on the court (29 vs. her season average of 12.2). Cianci made the most of the opportunity, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
Bethlehem Christian's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Coventry Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
