After flying high against the Southwest EC Eagles last Thursday, the Brawley Wildcats came back down to earth. Brawley was dealt a 77-45 defeat at the hands of Vincent Memorial on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Brawley has suffered since December 7, 2023.
Despite the loss, Brawley still got an impressive performance from Breanna Montano, who scored 21 points. Isabela Trujillo Sepulveda was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Brawley has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Vincent Memorial, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-5.
Brawley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Calipatria at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Calipatria is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
