The El Capitan Gauchos put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Oakdale 38-20. That result was just more of the same for these two, as El Capitan also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
El Capitan found their leader in underclassman Madysen Dietz, who scored 21 points along with 4 steals. Dietz is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Avnoor Bains was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
El Capitan has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 4-0 record. As for Oakdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
El Capitan will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Sierra at 1:30 p.m. Sierra will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 415th, while El Capitan is ranked 78th). As for Oakdale, they will head out on the road to face off against Central Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
