After flying high against Rancho Mirage last Thursday, Amador Valley came back down to earth. The Dons fell just short of the Livermore Cowboys by a score of 11-10 on Wednesday. The Dons' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Gavin Colombo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kade Robertson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Amador Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Livermore, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

While Amador Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
