Palma is 9-1 against Soledad since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Chieftains will be playing at home against the Aztecs at 4:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Palma's favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home while Soledad has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Palma barely beat St. Francis the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Chieftains blew past the Sharks 13-7 on Monday. Considering the Chieftains have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

In other batting news, Cesar Mercado was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Damien Lopez, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Soledad was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They fell 5-2 to Monterey.
Soledad's loss dropped their record down to 9-16-1. As for Palma, their win bumped their record up to 19-7.
Palma skirted past Soledad 9-8 when the teams last played back in April. Will the Chieftains repeat their success, or do the Aztecs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
