In what's become a running theme this season, the Forest Hills Rangers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They claimed a resounding 59-14 victory over Somerset at home. The win was nothing new for Forest Hills as they're now sitting on nine straight.
It was another big night for Alexis Henderson, who scored 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Arissa Britt, who scored six points.
Despite the defeat, Somerset saw an underclassman step up: Eve Housley scored 12 points along with two steals. That was a full 85.7% of Somerset's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Reagan Holmes was another key contributor, scoring no points along with 12 rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Somerset struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They are winless (0-5) when they just don't pass the ball.
Forest Hills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Somerset, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forest Hills will square off against the Hilltoppers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westmont Hilltop is on a ten-game streak of home wins, the Rangers a 13-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Somerset, they will head out on the road to challenge the Rams at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
