The North Gaston Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 48-19 loss at the hands of East Mecklenburg. North Gaston found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 18 to 5 on offense.
Diamonique Jackson was North Gaston's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
East Mecklenburg was led to victory by Presense Downer and Mackenna Weisner. Downer scored 14 points, while Weisner scored 12 points along with three steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Ava Stallings was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six rebounds.
North Gaston's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for East Mecklenburg, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 3-8.
North Gaston won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lake Norman Charter at 10:00 a.m. on December 29th.
