The Valley Forge Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lakewood Rangers at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Valley Forge's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 49-29 loss at the hands of Bay.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Taylor Patrick, who scored eight points along with two blocks. It was the first time this season that she posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikayla Hoang, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Lakewood pushed their score all the way to 57 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Washington. While losing is never fun, Lakewood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 349th, while the Tigers are ranked 168th).
Valley Forge has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season. As for Lakewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
Valley Forge came up short against the Rangers in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 46-34. Will Valley Forge have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
