Valley Christian is 0-3 against Aquinas since October of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Defenders will welcome the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Valley Christian comes in on three and Aquinas on five.
If Aquinas heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Valley Christian took over last week. The Defenders walked away with a 35-26 victory over Capistrano Valley Christian on Friday.
Valley Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sean Bouma out in front who picked up 120 receiving yards and one touchdown. Bouma's longest reception was for an incredible 93 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Boateng, who picked up 94 receiving yards and one score.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Aquinas). They claimed a resounding 75-27 victory over Ontario Christian. With the Falcons ahead 49-13 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Valley Christian better keep an eye on Charlie Reyes. He was instrumental in Aquinas' win, rushing for 79 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries, while also throwing for 38 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Cooper Barrows, who rushed for 66 yards and one score.
Aquinas was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 341 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Aquinas didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caden Jones and Dannicco Louie. Louie also punched in three rushing touchdowns, marking his first of the season.
Aquinas' win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Valley Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
