After a string of four wins, the California Condors's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Pioneer by a score of 56-54. The result was an unpleasant reminder to California of the 49-40 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2018.
Aryanna Reyes continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pioneer, scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Daysia Almendarez, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
California's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-9. As for Pioneer, their victory bumped their record up to 11-16.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. California will take on the Lancers at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. La Serna is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Pioneer, they will play host again and welcome the Eagles, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Glenn has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 21.
