Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Delaware). They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Maquoketa Cardinals on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won nine in a row.

West Delaware pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Maquoketa, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

West Delaware didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Monticello on the 20th. As for Maquoketa, they have also already played their next game, an 8-3 win against North Fayette Valley on the 20th.
